1. Removed the colored portion of the aluminum can using sandpaper as shown in the picture at the left. 2. Mix water and salt in the aluminum can. Make sure that it is saturated that you can see salt settling in the bottom of the cup after mixing it. |
3. Get a connecting wire and clip one end in the scraped portion of the aluminum can. 4. Get another connecting wire, this time clip the charcoal in one end of the wire and dip it on the saturated solution. |
5. To test if it will work, connect the ends of the two connecting wire in the terminal of an electronic melody. By this time, you will hear a music from the melody if you did the experiment right. If it doesnft work, try to reverse the connecting wires which are connected in the electronic melody. |
Note: If electronic melody is not available ,you can use a multi tester instead. One advantage of this is you can measure the current flow and the voltage of your improvised battery. |
